Sustainable sourcing
The fish oil comes from wildcaught (sardines, mackerel, anchovies) and meets strict guidelines for sustainable fishing, certified by "Friends of the Sea". The oil is extracted directly from the whole fish for optimum quality.
Unique 3-step purification process
To ensure maximum purity, NORSAN uses a modern 3-step cleaning process including microdistillation. The oil is carefully purified of pollutants, PCBs and heavy metals and controlled according to strict Norwegian regulations.
Natural fatty acid structure
Natural fish oil contains a complex of >50 fatty acids. NORSAN preserves the natural fatty acid structure during extraction and purification, so the intake is similar to eating fish. There are no concentrates used that disrupt the natural matrix.
Why flaxseed oil alone is not enough
Plant sources such as flaxseed, nuts and chia mainly provide ALA. Conversion of ALA to marine omega-3 fatty acids. EPA and DHA however, is limited (~0.5-10%) and dependent on weight and metabolism, among other factors. ALA intake alone does not usually correct EPA and DHA deficiency.
Organic olive oil as a powerful antioxidant
Our olive oil (from olive grower Rafael) is organic extra virgin with a high polyphenol content For strong antioxidant protection of omega-3, before and after ingestion. The polyphenols help reduce oxidation; a light "tingle" in the throat can betray this high polyphenol content.
Taste & Freshness
Thanks to the low oxidation (TOTOX) the taste is fresh and pleasant. A few drops natural lemon oil give a gentle citrus note (also available without lemon). The fresh oil causes no unpleasant reflux or aftertaste.
Usage & Dosage
- Daily dose: 8 ml (± 1 tablespoon).
- Intake: with or after a meal for optimal absorption.
- Duration: a bottle goes ~25 days along at the recommended dose.
- Also delicious in a smoothie, or if topping over salad/ cold dishes.
- Do not exceed the recommended daily allowance unless advised by your physician.
Ingredients
Natural fish oil, organic extra virgin olive oil, colecalciferol (Vitamin D), mixed tocopherols (Vitamin E). Version with lemon contains a few drops natural lemon oil.
Retention
- Unopened: keep cool, dry and out of direct sunlight.
- Crystals may form below 4 °C; these dissolve within a few minutes at room temperature.
- After opening: in the refrigerator store and within 45 days consume.
